Common Redshanks in breeding plumage are a brown color and slightly lighter below. In winter plumage they become lighter-toned and not so fully patterned, being rather plain grey-brown above and white below. They have red legs and ared beak with a black tip, and show white up the back and on the wings in flight.It is widely distributed and quite plentiful in some regions, and thus not considered a threatened species.
