An adaptable forest bird found in dense wooded areas, usaully near lowland primary rainforest. It moves with a fast and jerky flight. It feeds mainly on fruits nectar. Nests of this bird is a tiny pouch with a side entrance, suspended from a branch on a tree. Males have bright orange underparts, a bluish head and wings. Females are a plain olive colour, with a yellow tinge on the lower part of the belly.
